He made an elaborate map of all the coconuts in that town.
Quite useful a map, for those who needed it.
No one in particular had asked him for it, but he made it, nevertheless.
A beautiful map on expensive vellum, quite large a canvas, that map turned out to be. Quite colourful and detailed, it was a stunning work of art.
But coconuts never stayed at one place all the time.
Some fell off the trees, some fell into the running stream and moved away to places far away.
So he constantly had to be on the move to observe the position of those coconuts, to keep his map up to date.
On one such day when he stood beneath a coconut tree to survey the coconuts on it, a large coconut fell from the tree on his head. His head broke, two equal halves, and he bled profusely and died then and there, that poor maker of the coconut map.
No one ever dared to make another coconut map ever again, in that town.
