Pond-er
By the pond
Looking at fish that swim
In the water
And at the birds that fly
In the sky – (and the reflection
Of the sky and the flying birds
On the water in the pond
In which swim fish)
With a sigh, gets up the frog
Picks up its stick
And it goes on a walk
Thinking about things
Longing to fly – like the birds
And on and on it walks
Till it reaches the next pond –
(The famous old pond)
Throwing the stick away
It jumps in –
Blunk plunk nglunk
Splash

Story of a Bear
To go the extra mile wearing spectacles with cleansed visions of tomorrows and of Johanna clean and clear
For the night is a swimming pool
filled with coffee in which I swim with the moon and an inflated tiger that refuses
to sink
Fear is a cloudy kite that flies
and floats over our heads reflecting our states of mind in three dimensions of
solid, liquid, and gas
On a night with dreams of hunting
vultures and complex numbers listening to old tunes where young men and women
long to be in the arms of each other
And the other song is sung to
the tune of silver moonlight that floods the rooms of lonely lovers with windows
hiding behind or on the other side of thin blue veils curtains
Their songs are sung with
mandolins of eight strings each – eight, eight, eight upright infinities and the
number of prime numbers unknown like the intentions of lovers
Who make promises in desert
mirages and mirror images of desert sands and camels that are the ships of the desert that however promise not to sink when they brush against icebergs of the
desert sand dunes oh the seas of sand
But the promises of lovers who
leave refuse to leave the wind – or should one call it the breeze of the desert
– as they move from left to right and then from the west to the east moving
against sunlight but with the shadows
Shadows of long coats have arms
that are longer than the arms of the law flaw claw blah, blah, blah – country singers
have sung more and much more about that
But what made a lover leave their
lover with four hundred children when listened to for the first time later
corrected by someone else that the children are just hungry – four hungry
children – and it is impossible to remember the capital of Hungary when you wake
up from a dream in the middle of the night on a steel cot whose skin is cold
like that of a lizard that wears the skin of a lion or a lizard falling into a
tin of blue paint running amok through forests claiming to be the kin of every animal
in the forest till it rains
New letters of new lovers pretend to be something else – like sheets of a calendar that measure the passing of many a birthday, wedding anniversaries, festivals, annual days of remembrance and pages of newspapers are filled with little boxes paid for by the square inches – announcements, obituaries, words, words, words, wanted salespersons! Apply here, here and here – there – post box numbers, prime numbers, seventeen or thirty-one ah well just another evening of a bluesy Sunday when the sun has set once upon a long time ago listening to the story of a bear that did not mind being a bear that once went on a long walk seeing a lion the way behind the rustling of a shrub or should one call it a bush I wonder what you would have called it had you been there – I wonder what you would say had you been here and I wonder where you are now, I wonder what you would have said to me had you been there and the bear runs home but the lion takes a shortcut and reaches home even before the bear does and the bear opens the door to see the lion that the bear thinks is another lion and so as the story goes in past tense, the bear ran to its friend’s house and stayed there for five hours till it felt safe before coming home and oh what joy to find a home sweet home so safe and clean – ideally there should be an exclamation mark here but everything is ok on a day like this – or should it be anything is ok – should there be a question mark here – but they everything and anything goes so, so

(yay!)
'free, free!' i remember the wrapper paper screaming, about the hole that came absolutely free with my new shirt and my skirt (yay!)
once worn, the hole along with the new shirt and my skirt, i remember seeing the green (yay!) of the next layer of clothing below or just pale brown (yay!) of the skin - that depended on where i chose to wear the hole that came
absolutely 'free free' with my new shirt and skirt (yay!)

mug shot
drying on the line, inside the dark room
where the photographs were left to dry
the photographer, found dead outside
the dark room, inside the studio, besides
the camera, a bullet hole on his forehead
the frame that held the killer in the mug
shot did not disclose the hand that held
the gun, the face only looked innocent
the gray eyes, the cold stare, the folds
on the lines of his denim shirt did not
give away any intentions of a murder
so there was a crime, one in the studio
and many in the papers the next day -
many stories of speculation & suspense

circle. circus. citrus.
nothing but a set of dots spread around another dot, all set equally away or equally close to the dot formerly addressed 'another' dot
~
without a start and without an end can a walker walk on with no sense of beginning and no sense of end and with no sense of position any point in time
~
angels, angel wings in silver, fluttering over and above the traced line or them dots set next closely to each other and the angels blink and blink and think and think
~
where the beginning is the end and the end the beginning, there's nothing in between and everything's in between, and there is no in between or it is only in between, to state for the in between-th time
~
ah grapes, not citrus at all, said the fox when it was seen last somewhere around, with a sour face, sore feet and a handful of angel dust

when i was 23 (i was invisible)
water in bottles by the bed side is only water yet it may resemble all of your yesterday and every other day in liquid time filling the bottle to the brim standing by your side waiting for you to drink or pour on yourself and soak in
at the wash basin the lamp, the mercury lamp sings a silver glow song, for the best songs are seen and seldom heard, when you open your eyes, music plays and all the colour bulbs do play a grand orchestra - strings, flutes, bells, drums and all that you see or listen to in purple and green and gold and yellow and
or or in just shades of blue
almost all evenings are the same, a fever on a winter night wouldn't help any with a cold, while one can only hope to fall asleep with a smile till the clock crows at the break of dawn in its all too well rehearsed and programmed electronic voice
when i was 23, i was invisible - at times i do talk about (being invisible within brackets)

the weight
on your wings, on your feet
on your back as you walk
in those eyes you meet
in the words as you talk
the weight
it's the weight -
the weight of all days past
and the wait
for them to disappear, fast
the weight -
them balls of lead
them images of the mind
yet to fade, bright red
play uncontrollably again - rewind

nonsense. junk. part 17.
moments that pass by are senseless like the stars that twinkle at a distance
for no particular reason at all, for no one, but they are the same stars -
that did make sense once upon a little while ago - a day or a week or a year before
the moments are just the same that now just refuse to pass on by
junk generation, memories made and nothing besides - pushes one from moment to moment
and at the end of the day when one turns around what is left behind is
only a back-yard filled with junk that refuse to disappear or to fade away
when sense makes no sense, when nonsense prevails as it did all one's life past
it's only the souls of the running shoes that wear out and
still the back-yard gathers more junk in pink and purple, blue and green

a game of cards
across and through the flight of stairs
men, gray hair smoking cigars
laugh loud, playing cards
five or seven cards each
with every one of the five
that sits around the table
it's only a familiar scene
when an old man smiles to himself
and throws the queen of spades
when the one sitting next
picks it up with a smile again
the cigar smoke rises up
and flies outside the window
along with the laughter
and the moments that
silently pass by
14 March 2010
songs
goodbyes to hellos to 'how you been?'s
none wants a wrist watch or a wall clock
or colour picture calendars
scenes fade out
the screens on which movies play only wear out
and tear away with time
and the movie scenes are projected in air - invisible
a pleasant surprise when on walks through
the movie scenes play on oneself - inside outside
soon it is night
and soon it is winter
the leaves would have fallen in between!

A: why are you smiling
M: hey... well, make hey while the son smiles
A: how old is your son?
M: 30
A: oh how interesting... getting him married soon?
M: yes, after I do.
A: he he... that will be an intresting story to tell your grand children!
M: oh! they all know the story, already. and they all laugh. big time!
A: oh my god! does that mean you have grand children too? why haven't I met any of them?
M: I dread the generation gap... you won't understand them, they won't understand you... so on and so forth, and hence!
A: from what I hear, you all belong to the same generation...
M: almost... mentally. we are more evolved. than the rest of you!
A: so evolved you might feature in the next series of star trek.
M: yay, here we come!
A: I thought you are already here...
M: I'm talking the next series of star trek... remember what I said about evolution? :p
A: ooh! the evolved species does not commuicate too well... :) :)
M: Or, the lesser evolved can never understand... ;) ;)
A: something is always lost in the process of evolution.
M: yes, we did lose, stupidity!
A: and got foolishness :)
M: boo!
