5/13

we drench ourselves in the rain of conversations -
another conversation comes to an end, creating a sense of loss
the way the end of a good book does -
every sense of self, time and the world around is lost
i wring myself and hang me on the line to dry
moments slowly pass and the world returns slowly -
things begin to make sense, reality spreads all around
a droplet of blue ink on blotting paper, drenched in rain

with a bunch of feathers that the birds that flew away left behind
i sweep the floor carefully and gather
all our words that lay scattered all around
i put them inside a box and hide it safe in a dark corner
and try not to think about it till the time is right
for me to go back to it again
the stars twinkle in the night sky and shooting stars fall
outside my window

there will be another day, later, a long time away from now
another night like this, when the blue moon will rise -
then i'll stand by my window, clutching the box to my chest
i'll look at the night sky and listen to familiar tunes of the breeze
like the night of some other time - the night will feel the same -
the same stars will twinkle and the same shooting stars will fly
everything and everyone that had to go would have left

then i'll open the box full of words from old conversations -
sitting on the floor, i'll let the blue glow of the moon
spread my shadow on the floor - on which i'll arrange the words
one after another, one after another -
recreating a conversation that once was -
creating again all alone a world that once was, with those words
and i think i'll smile to myself then -
but till such a night arrives, the box will stay hidden in the dark
with all the words and the attempts to forget them
or the tries just not to remember them -

till a night like this is back again

D (II)

a zen like detachment
is only a third person view
of things - he, she, it and them

let's just pretend -
it's their business anyway

figured!

to figure it all out is far more easier than one can think.

it only takes a mug or two of strong coffee, extra bitter,
a song to play in the back ground, in repeat mode
the happy trance that the repeated tune and the repeated words
as in a chant can bring in
can switch on the light bulb - plink!

deep breaths do help, to control the excitement
that one realizes on realizing the thing that one longed to realize
and then to believe that the vision that one just had is the way
and to loosen the grip and to give it all up and to give
them all up, singular, plural - not two but one!

then go back to the curse of words without which one can think not
read or write or think - in words that mean things
far beyond what they are supposed to mean and indicate
but to realize the thing one wants to realize is not done through words
but through a momentary flash of symbols and sounds and something beyond the senses!

to figure it all out is far more easier than one can think.

P'u

is-ness
is-ness of beauty
is-ness of the lack of it
is-ness of every illusion
is-ness of belief
reality, un-thought
un-explained, existence as-is
in all simplicity
it, me or you -

being treeing

try not to be a tree
- be a tree
for the tree never tries to be a tree
but it is one
if you want to be a tree
you should be one
if you want to be a tree, you should know you are one
if you want to be a tree, you can never be a tree
you are a tree when you know you are a tree
try not to, want not to, know not to
be a tree

then you are one!

satori

stood outside
took a look at the moon
of the late midnight
meditated on the sight
for one brief moment

the clouds, the clouds
were moving around
shadows of blackness

they stood still
for that brief moment
and then they moved
the moon is gone...

- satori!

A sharp ray of sun
Sunset, through clouds
A tear drop.

The Way

Om: What are you searching for?
Ohm: My way!
Om: (With a knowing smile on face) Found it?
Ohm: No, not as yet. Could you help?
Om: I help you find your way?
Ohm: Yes!
Om: That is not possible!
Ohm: Uh oh! By the way, have you found your way?
Om: No, not as yet!
Ohm: Would you be able to find your way?
Om: That is not possible!
Ohm: What does that mean?
Om: You cannot ‘find’ your way. The way just is. The minute you think you have found your way, there is some mistake. It cannot be your way.
Ohm: I do not get it. How then can I find my way?
Om: You do not find your way. The way is!
Ohm: And when will I know I’m on my way?
Om: No, you will not know. If you know that you are on the way, then the very moment it ceases to be your way!
Ohm: Why?
Om: Because it cannot be your way!
Ohm: Oh!

Bamboo chime
Still, calm
Silent ceiling
Old leaf shadow
Cast by late night moon
Slow shivering breeze
