one night at the bookstore
is all it takes to get the pages to turn
there will be book marks old and new
that stay put, pegged in time

you'll find pages dog eared - not by you
but by them, for them to come back here
land on that page, turn around time and
go from there again

but once the last page turns
there is nothing more, but for a few creases
at the edges of pages and impressions
of book marks. the book isn't the book anymore
