seeing green

S: You should see green
M: I have already told everyone, no!
S: No? No? no? What do you mean 'No'?
M: A no is a no, as any no has ever meant before. plain. simple. no.
S: Why not green? green is nice.
M: Possibly, you know. Just that I don't see the point!
S: Green, no point?
M: Yeah...
S: Why should there ever be a point?
M: I want to see why. I want to know why.
S: Why see green?
M: Yes, I want to know why see green.
S: Because we all do. It is the time time, spring as spring is. You should see green!
M: Because all you have?
S: Yes! Because we all have, and we all should!
M: Why do you see green? Why did you see green?
S: Because it was time.
M: And?
S: Because we should.
M: Why?
S: Because we should. Why do you not understand?
M: Do you understand what I try to ask? I ask 'WHY'?
S: What do you mean why? You don't even try to understand...
M: Tch. I don't see a point in trying to explain you. I do not see a point in seeing green.
S: So we are all fools, to have seen green, and you are the only one, wise and sane?
M: I never said that. If you know why you see green, why you saw green, good for you. You knew why and you went with it. Just that I do not see why. So I would not see green.
S: Are you afraid of green?
M: No I am not afraid! Just that I am not able to bring myself to believe in the existence of green!
S: Shame on you! I thought you were clear headed!
M: Precisely why! I think I am clear headed, the reason why I would not see green till I know what green is, till I know why I should see green.
S: Are you afraid, of green? Green is at times a dirty shade, it has been. I agree. Has that frightened you?
M: No. Not at all. I have my own versions of green, all that I could gather for myself with my own questions about green. I would like to see green. But before that I should know why I should see green. Before that I should know what is green. Till then I wouldn't see green. I wouldn't even know if I was seeing green, but would nod my head and tell you that I see green when you ask me. That would be criminal. As I said before, pointless.
S: What about spring? When would you know green? When would you see the point?
M: I do not know if you understood what I said. I should realize green. Me realizing green is not in my hands. I should let it happen. And hope I would see the point someday.
S: You'd hope?
M: Yes.
S: And so I'd hope?
M: Yes, I hope so.
S: No way, no way.
M: What more can or should I do?
S: I think you need some counseling.
M: Who counsels me?
S: A professional...
M: A shrink? What do you mean?
S: Your books have blinded you! You even refuse to see green!
M: You do not even know what green is. I cannot see green, because you think you have seen green.
S: I have seen green!
M: Ask yourself. If you think so, very good, I am very happy for you. I cannot, and I still do not know green.
S: Have there been shades of gray?
M: Aah, depends. If I look at it, it was either all gray or there was no gray at all.
S: You see, gray mutates to green.
M: I do not even know green. If gray mutates to green, I do not even know gray, then!
S: You are lying! That is unbelievable!
M: No! Or it is just that our definitions of gray vary!
S: Tell me finally. When would you see green?
M: I don't know.
S: How long?
M: I don't know.
S: Let me show you green then!
M: That is not possible. You do not know green. You do not know my green! You cannot know my green when I know not my green.
S: But you should...
M: Don't do that! With that you make me feel as if it is only green and green and shades of green all around. I do not want to do that, nor to feel that way!
S: You should! My bus is here, I should go. Think about it!
M: Oh yes, I'll try. I cannot promise, but!
